About us

About National
Cement Ltd

In line with the vision and commitment of Mr Narendra Raval (Guru), we supply building and construction materials at affordable cost so that Kenyans can build their homes in a cost-effective way. National Cement Company Limited was the third major diversification and growth initiative of the Devki Group.

We started producing cement in 2010 under the Simba Cement brand from a single grinding mill. As demand grew, we expanded grinding capacity five times over in 2013, reached more than 20% of the local market and began exporting across East Africa. To reduce our reliance on imported raw materials, we built our own clinker plant at Merueshi.

We thank the Kenya Commercial Bank and the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group) for their partnership through our growing journey.

FAQ

Common questions

Which grade should I use for my house?

For most home building (foundations, walling, plastering and ground slabs), Simba Cement 32.5R is the right choice. For suspended slabs, columns and beams on buildings with more than one storey, use Simba Power 42.5N. Send us your plan on WhatsApp if you're unsure.

What do 32.5R and 42.5N mean?

The number is the minimum strength, in MPa, that the cement reaches after 28 days. The letter shows how fast it gains strength early on: R means rapid and N means normal. The higher the number, the heavier the structural load it is made for.

Do you deliver?

Yes. We deliver bagged cement, bulk truckloads and paving blocks to building sites, hardware stores and yards. Send us your location and quantity on WhatsApp and we'll give you a delivery quote.

How should I store cement on site?

Keep bags off the ground on pallets, under a roof or tarpaulin and away from walls. Stack them no more than 10 high and use the oldest stock first. Cement is best used within 3 months.

Can hardware stores become stockists?

Yes. We supply retailers and wholesalers across Kenya. Call 0756 121 671 to talk to our sales team about becoming a stockist.
